Over the next two Sundays, Pastor Kevin will lead a discussion on Luther’s way of reading the Bible, a way that will challenge both liberal and fundamentalistic approaches to biblical interpretation. The lessons are based, in part, on a book by theologian Tim Wengert, Reading the Bible with Martin Luther. (You can find Wengert’s book on Amazon.com)

November 16: The first session will examine how the Bible was authoritative for Luther and the reformers, how it is authoritative today for those who belong to the Lutheran Confession of the faith.
November 23: The second session will center more specifically on method and how a Lutheran interpretation of scripture must distinguish between law and gospel and the difference this distinction makes.

Please join us for one or both of the sessions, both held at 9:15am in the basement of the church.
